Academically Adrift: Limited Learning on College Campuses

The event will open with introductory comments by Dewayne Matthews (Vice President for Policy and Strategy of the Lumina Foundation) and Donna Heiland (Vice President of the Teagle Foundation), as well as provide a short summary by co-authors of "Academically Adrift" Richard Arum and Josipa Roksa on the research findings and policy recommendations. We will then turn to a panel of experts (Michelle Asha Cooper, President, Institute for Higher Education Policy; Charlie Blaich, Director of Inquiries, Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts, Wabash College; Alexander McCormick, Director, National Survey of Student Engagement; and David Paris, Executive Director, New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability) to discuss the strengths and limitations of the book, as well as implications for research, policy and practice.
