Central Asia, Louis Dupree Prize for Research

A prize of $2,500 will be awarded for the most promising dissertation involving field research in Central Asia, a region broadly defined to include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kirghizia, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and culturally related contiguous areas of Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and China.

Eligibility

Only candidates who receive a dissertation research fellowship from an SSRC/ACLS program will be eligible to apply.

The prize is intended to enrich the individual's field experience by making possible a longer stay or more extensive travel within the region.
