SSRC-IDRF Book Fellowship
The program has been discontinued and this record is displayed for archival/historical purposes.
The SSRC-IDRF Book Fellowship was established in 2007 to provide professional assistance to alumni of the International Dissertation Research Fellowship (IDRF) Program who are beginning the process of writing a scholarly monograph, based on research conducted while on an IDRF grant. The SSRC-IDRF Book Fellowship hosts a workshop in New York for the fellowship recipients where they consult experienced developmental editors and present their projects in a setting of supportive and constructive criticism. The grant provides for the fellows to work with one of the editors on an individual basis to transform their Ph.D. dissertation into what will be a successful first book.
The program is offered in conjunction with a publishing partnership with New York University Press and is funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
