The SSRC archives, which have long been inaccessible to scholars, are now open for research at the Rockefeller Archive Center (RAC) in Pocantico Hills, New York. These materials, which date back to 1924, contain records of the governing bodies of the SSRC, staff-written memoranda and correspondence, committee and working group documents, fellowships and grants materials, and other files.
The decision by Rockefeller to serve as the repository for the SSRC's materials continues a partnership between the two institutions that began in 1923. Many of the individuals and institutions covered in the SSRC records also have important documentation in the RAC's holdings.
Scholars wishing to consult the SSRC records should contact the RAC for an appointment.
