The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) employs a diverse workforce in the United States at our headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, as well as internationally. - Program Assistant - IDRF Program

The SSRC invites applications for a Program Assistant to work with the International Dissertation Research Fellowship (IDRF) program. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the IDRF program is designed to support doctoral candidates in the humanities and social sciences seeking to conduct dissertation field research in all areas and regions of the world. - Program Assistant - International Activities including Pre-Dissertation Research, Migration, and Environment and Health

The SSRC invites applications for the position of Program Assistant for international activities organized by the SSRC’s Migration, Environment and Health, Human Rights, and Dissertation Proposal Development Fellowship (DPDF) Programs. The goals of these activities are to strengthen interdisciplinary social science, create international scholarly networks, and to set research agendas in response to public concerns and policy debates. The DPDF Program pursues these goals by supporting humanities and social science graduate students to prepare dissertation research proposals within interdisciplinary fields of study.

The Mellon Mays Graduate Initiatives Program aims to diversify the faculties, in core fields within the arts and sciences, at colleges and universities by providing support for African American, Latino, and Native American scholars and others with a demonstrated commitment to this goal. - Senior Program Assistant - Abe Fellowship Program, Japan Program (Tokyo Office)

The SSRC seeks a Senior Program Assistant for its Tokyo office. This hire would be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Abe Fellowship Program under the supervision of the Program Manager in the Tokyo Office. The Abe Fellowship Program encourages international multidisciplinary research on topics of pressing global concern. The program fosters the development of a new generation of researchers interested in policy-relevant topics and willing to become key members of a bilateral and global research network. In partnership with the SSRC, the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) established the Abe Fellowship Program as its flagship program in 1991.

- Intern - Religion Program

The Social Science Research Council (SSRC), a not-for-profit organization devoted to the advancement of social science research and scholarship, seeks a spring 2012 intern for the Religion and the Public Sphere Program. The Religion and the Public Sphere Program aims to foster innovative research on questions concerning religion, secularism, and related themes, especially in regard to their impact on contemporary public life; to encourage exchanges and collaborations between scholars working on these and similar topics across disciplinary boundaries; and to inform and elevate public discourse by disseminating rigorous and research-based social science in an accessible form and through innovative and catalytic media.
