This conference has been organized by the Muslim Studies Program at MSU with the support of the Social Science Research Council, the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (IPSU), the University Acitivies Board (MSU), the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, and the Michigan State University-University of Wisconsin Consortium for Middle Easter Studies.
