HIV/AIDS in the Russian Federation

The SSRC's Eurasia Program has developed a major initiative to address HIV/AIDS in Eurasia with a focus on the Russian Federation, which has been identified as one of the "second-wave" countries confronted by the pandemic. Begun in 2007, HIV/AIDS and the Russian Federation has supported the development of new social science university-level courses and case studies on HIV/AIDS. WSe have also offered research and training to scholars at various stages on the gender and sexuality, public health, and the governance aspects of HIV/AIDS. In the project's next phase, we hope to create research and teaching hubs that enable networking among partnering universities and their affiliates and neighbors on topics of health, gender and sexuality, and HIV/AIDS.
