Joint Learning Initiative on Children and AIDS (JLICA)
The Joint Learning Initiative on Children and AIDS (JLICA) engaged practitioners, policymakers, and scholars from around the globe in a multi-year collaboration focused on the needs of children affected by HIV/AIDS. Its work, consisting of problem-solving, research and analysis, was conducted by four interdisciplinary Learning Groups. The SSRC served as host and co-chair of the fourth group, on social and economic policies for children and AIDS. The findings were officially released in London in March 2009, while some highlights appeared in a special issue of the Bulletin of the Institute of Development Studies on "Children, AIDS and Development Policy," published in November 2008.
