Held on the campus of an MMUF institution, the Dissertation Writing Retreat brings together 12-15 advanced graduate student fellows for four days of independent work on the dissertation project, makes a support network available to each dissertation-stage fellow, and creates a structure for accountability to colleagues that directly reflects best practices learned from fellows who successfully completed the dissertation in varying circumstances.
• Open to sixth year graduate students and beyond
• Four-day intensive writing schedule facilitated by a Mellon PhD
• Participants will create an individual 12-month workplan and establish a calendar by which to exchange new or revised work by email and provide one another with feedback on progress.
• Offers support for the development of a structure for productivity with specific, self-defined marks of progress leading to dissertation completion
The 2016 Dissertation Writing Retreat will be held July 6-11 in Philadelphia, PA.
