Advancing Transitional Justice Series

Advancing Transitional Justice is a new series of books produced by the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ). Presenting innovative work in the field of transitional justice, the series addresses important gaps in scholarship and provides comparative analysis of transitional justice measures and the difficult contexts in which they take place. Each edited volume in the series presents the findings of a different research project conducted by ICTJ and is available to the academic community, policymakers, and practitioners. The projects explore not just particular justice measures, but also the relationship between transitional justice and other fields. Each book is available for purchase in hard copy or downloadable, for free, in an electronic version.

About the ICTJ Research Unit
The ICTJ Research Unit works to develop a rich understanding of the field of transitional justice and to identify issues that merit more in-depth research and analysis. Collaborating with colleagues in transitional societies and often commissioning outside studies, the unit researches the complex issues confronting policymakers and activists. Identifying and addressing the most important gaps in scholarship, it provides comparative analysis to ICTJ staff and practitioners worldwide. Over the past several years, the Research Unit has conducted major research projects on reparations, vetting, gender and reparations, transitional justice and development, identity politics, and disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR). About ICTJ
The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) assists countries pursuing accountability for past mass atrocity or human rights abuse.
