Samuel Carter joined the President's Office of the SSRC in August 2007 to serve as Program Coordinator.  His current portfolio of projects at SSRC include coordinating the Council's Hurricane Katrina Task Force with Dr. Kai Erikson and helping to develop a book series on the Privatization of Risk.  Prior to joining the SSRC, Mr. Carter served as Researcher for Senator Joe Biden on his book Promises to Keep, and as Researcher for democratic political consultant Robert Shrum's book No Excuses.  Mr. Carter has completed his coursework for an MPA in Public and Nonprofit Policy Analysis and Management from NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School for Public Service, and he will be awarded this degree in May 2008.
