Frank Baldwin

Bio

Frank Baldwin received a B.S. from Temple University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in East Asian languages and history from Columbia University. He taught at Columbia University, Tsukuba University, and Sophia University. He has written extensively on East Asia, and translated numerous scholarly essays and four books on Japan, including The Pacific War by Ienaga Saburo and The Japan That Can Say No by Ishihara Shintaro. A founding member of the Committee of Concerned Asian Scholars, he was a member of the editorial board of the CCAS Bulletin and The Japan Interpreter, and a contributing editor to Christianity and Crisis. He is preparing a manuscript on translating Japanese.
