Bio

Jessica Polebaum is an editorial associate for the SSRC and for projects on religion and the public sphere, including The Immanent Frame. She graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2008 with a a B.A. in religion. Her undergraduate work culminated in a senior honors thesis on ijtihad, a concept from classical Islamic law, and its use in modern reform movements. She received the Ann and Edward Meyers Religion Prize in 2008 for exceptional ability in the understanding, expression, and integration of ideas in the area of religious studies.
