Emily Burns joined the SSRC in October of 2007 as a Program Assistant for the Dissertation Proposal Development Fellowship (DPDF). She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in May of 2007, earning degrees in Political Science and Sociology with focuses in social theory, inequality studies and African politics. Prior to joining the SSRC, Emily worked as a Development and Event Planning Assistant at the Center for American Women and Politics (a sub-division of the Eagleton Institute of Politics – Rutgers University).
