Abby Larson is SSRC program coordinator for K-12 and post-secondary education. In this capacity, Larson has co-organized with Richard Arum the planning and implementation of a Research Partnership for New York Schools. Larson comes to SSRC and to the consortium project from an international background in education and social institutions. Her research has been sponsored in Argentina, France, Germany, England and the Balkans, and she has consulted on projects about civil society and social institutions for organizations including the International Center for Transitional Justice, the European Union, and the Berlin Senate. Larson studied at Oxford University and Stanford University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in international relations and a master's degree in sociology. She is currently a doctoral candidate in sociology at New York University, with a focus on organizations and political sociology. In addition to her work on the research consortium, Larson is currently working on a series of articles about transitional justice and citizenship.
