Chris graduated from Hamilton College in 2005 with a double major in sociology and philosophy, and a Senior Fellowship, and joined the SSRC web development team as a content management consultant in February of 2007. He also works as a research analyst for a Mellon Foundation assessment grant, and in the fall will pursue his sociology Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. His academic interests focus mainly on the sociology of higher education, and he is currently writing an ethnography of liberal arts college students with Hamilton College Professor Daniel Chambliss, for publication in 2009. Chris has presented papers, taught, and consulted on topics related to higher education ethnography and institutional research in a variety of capacities since joining the Mellon Foundation Assessment Project in 2003. Chris’ other academic interests include sociological theory, phenomenology, qualitative methodologies, urban sociology, ethnomethodology, and institutional sociology.
