On 1–4 December 2014, JSRP research director Tatiana Carayannis and program coordinator Aaron Pangburn from the Social Science Research Council joined their Congolese local researchers Jose Bazonzi (Kinshasa) and Jose Ndala (Gbadolite) in Gulu, Uganda, for a research workshop with other members of the international research consortium. Researchers from the London School of Economics, Ghent University, the World Peace Foundation (at Tufts University), and various regional institutes from South Sudan, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo presented their findings on how public authority is exercised in their respective research sites, while others focused on local justice mechanisms.
