Measuring College Learning in Public Speaking: An Initial Conversation with Faculty

On May 11, 2017 the Measuring College Learning panel in Public Speaking convened for the first time. This was the first MCL panel to discuss not just field-, but course-specific learning outcomes and assessment for undergraduates. The meeting organized nine experts, including faculty from across the nation and representatives of the National Communication Association, in order to lay the groundwork for establishing a framework of essential concepts, competencies, and potential avenues for an assessment tool.
