Bio

Susan Kung’u is a communications lecturer with thirteen years’ experience. She was awarded a Master’s degree in communication studies at University of Nairobi in 2005 and a Bachelor’s degree from Kenyatta University in 1997. Since 2007, she has taught in various universities in Kenya including University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University and headed the communications department at Presbyterian University of E.A. She has specialized in journalism, media law and ethics, and psychology in communication. Previously, Kung’u taught language and literature in high schools in Kenya. While there, she revised and edited English text books for primary and secondary schools in Kenya with Malimu Publications. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Information and Communication at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
A strong believer in humanity, Kung’u coordinates and participates in community events. She aspires to consistently empower herself through empirical, logical, serendipitous, and observational knowledge and share the same through work, training, research, and communication for social transformation in Kenya and beyond.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys listening to music, watching documentaries, cooking, and hiking with friends and family.
