Bio

Ibrahima Niang is a lecturer and researcher in the Sociology of International Relations and Development Department at the University of Dakar, Senegal, and a visiting researcher at the Renmin University of China. He is also the Executive Director of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Sahel (IAASS), a newly established think tank based in Dakar. His research focuses on Africa-China relations, conflict and conflict resolution in the Sahel, the geopolitics of the Sahel, and the conflict in Casamance, Senegal. Furthermore, Ibrahima has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles and reports on youth and social movements, higher education, migration, and conflict. He is also an expert consultant for Partner West Africa in Sahel.
