Bio

Kundai Manamere is a post-doctoral fellow at the International Studies Group, University of the Free State (UFS), South Africa. She is a historian with research interests that include but are not limited to understanding, ways in which Africans perceive and narrate mobility and public health interventions. She is currently writing her first monograph, which emphasizes mobility as a key determinant of malaria in Southern Africa. Her book puts at the center of historical enquiry, Africans’ experiences with malaria and its control within the context of global and regional efforts towards the elimination of the disease. Kundai also has a keen interest in women’s history. She taught several undergraduate courses on women’s history prior to joining the University of the Free State.
