The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) is pleased to announce that the University of Denver (DU) has joined the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences. DU is the first university in the state of Colorado to join the consortium, which brings together 50 leading North American institutions committed to advancing collaborative research partnerships aimed at addressing pressing societal challenges.

“At the University of Denver, we are deeply committed to fostering research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries and drives meaningful societal impact,” said Corinne Lengsfeld, DU’s Senior Vice Provost for Research & Graduate Education. “Joining the SSRC’s College and University Fund aligns seamlessly with our mission to support scholarship that informs policy and promotes the public good.”

The College and University Fund facilitates connection and collaboration among faculty and institutional leaders in the social and behavioral sciences, while also linking researchers with external partners in need of their expertise.

“This partnership supports the kind of applied, solutions-oriented research that’s urgently needed today,” said Fritz Mayer, Dean of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. “From climate policy to democratic resilience to economic development, DU faculty are committed to research that engages with real-world problems. The SSRC consortium is an ideal platform for advancing that kind of impactful scholarship.”

“We’re so pleased to welcome the University of Denver as our first Colorado institution in the College and University Fund, said Anna Harvey, president of the SSRC. “In this challenging moment for higher education, the College and University Fund offers members opportunities to showcase the societal value of the research enterprise, and we look forward to working with DU to capitalize on those opportunities.”

DU’s membership in the College and University Fund reflects the broader vision and ambition that has animated the university for more than 160 years: to be a global leader in knowledge creation and application, ensuring that research not only advances scholarship, but also strengthens the public good.
