Laura is an Associate Director on the What Works Hub for Global Education program, which focuses on how to implement quality foundational literacy and numeracy programs at scale. Prior to SSRC, Laura has supported the design and implementation of large-scale foundational learning programs in countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and North Africa. She has worked closely with governments, local partners and other key stakeholders to ensure approaches are grounded in global evidence and adapted for local contexts. Laura started her career as a classroom teacher in Washington, DC, where she initially developed her skills in curriculum design and pedagogical approaches for foundational literacy and numeracy. Laura received a M.S. Ed in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in International Studies from American University.
