Possible Futures Book Series Launch
Possible Futures is a challenging new book series published jointly by NYU Press and the SSRC. In the first three volumes, series editor Craig Calhoun brings together thirty-six of the world’s leading social scientisits to analyze the recent global financial crisis in historical context and with broad comparative attention to different parts of the world. Terrible and potentially transformative as the crisis has been, the Possible Futures series shows that we need to recognize it as the product of larger patterns that connect financial and economic crisis to politics, geography, and social change. And we need to see in it openings to a range of possible futures.
