Bio

Erick Sourna Loumtouang is currently a senior research officer at the National Center of Education a research institution under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation in Yaoundé (Cameroon). He obtained a master’s degree and a PhD in the history of international relations from the University of Ngaoundere, Cameroon. His thesis was titled “Issues of Defense and Security on Cameroon-Nigeria border (XIXth-XXIth centuries). His research interests include the political history of Cameroon, borders and security issues, development of border regions in Africa. During the year 2015-2016, he earned the Swiss Excellence Government Scholarship for Foreign Scholars and Artists. He was hosted as a visiting fellow at the International History Department at the Graduate Institute of Geneva. He has published several journal articles and participated in many conferences. His recent publication is titled: “War seen from above: The use of drones on African soil,” A contrario, vol. no 29, no. 2, 2019, pp. 99-118.
