A comparison of Afrikaner Economic Empowerment and Black Economic Empowerment: A South African case
The study aims to compare the Afrikaner Economic Empowerment (AEE) started in the twentieth century with Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) to (i) shed light on their philosophy, factors driving them and how they were implemented at the former parastatal called Iscor, now Arcelor-Mittal South Africa (AMSA) in Vanderbijlpark and (ii) explain why the BEE benefits have not been as widespread as those of AEE. The main research question is, how do these two economic empowerment strategies compare and how are they being implemented at AMSA and explore if the current benefits of BEE at AMSA are as widespread as those of AEE and if not, why?
