My work is an attempt to revisit the historical omissions that occurred in postcolonial Zimbabwe's representations of its colonial past. Focusing on the narratives of that country's war of national liberation, my study will concern itself with the central question that asks to what extend did that country managed to account for the historical legacies associated with its war of liberation such as the refugees and the internally displaced. Inspired by the conviction that Zimbabwe's war historiography and its post independence socio political set up can be fully understood through examining its many facets, the main objective of my research is to write a more inclusive and analytical history of it through considering the refugee voices that were omitted in the existing historical grand narrative. The oral history approach will be used as the methodological format to excavate these silenced histories.
