The on going war in Democratic republic of Congo has exposed refugees to a wide range of traumatic experiences like, sexual violence, torture, death, family separation, struggles in their journey to reach the refugee camps and finally refugee cultural clashes in the refugee camps. The study hypothised a relationship between traumatic experiences, cognitive functions and aggressive behavior among the Congolese refugees The study investigated the relationship between exposure to traumatic experiences and aggressive behavior, posttraumatic stress disorder symptom severity and cognitive functions among the newly arrived Congolese refugees in nakivale camp. In total 325 refugees were assessed on exposure to traumatic events, facilitative and appetitive aggressive behavior using a appetitive facilitative aggression scale, PTSD symptom severity using posttraumatic stress scale, cognitive functions of working memory and executive functions using Corsi block tapping task and tower of London respectively and the results of this study will be generalized to comparable settings.
