Internationalization and MOF: The Impact of Japan's Rise as a Financial Superpower on Global Economic Policy Formation, 1965-1991
The project is aimed at producing a book which will examine the policies, attitudes, and personalities of Japan's Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the institutions and markets that it influences and controls. Research will focus on events since the mid 1960's, a formative period for Japanese financial policy. The purpose is to fill a large gap in understanding how financial and economic policy is formulated in Japan, a topic of increasing strategic importance to other nations.
