Patronage, Corruption, and Political Culture in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1880-1916
I propose to study the transformation of political culture and the formation of a liberal state in Argentina from the Revolution of 1880 to the election of the first president under a regime of universal male suffrage of 1916, focusing on the changing nature of the politics of patronage.
