Abstract

The SSRC/SHIP grant will help sustain staffing and activities related to DER’s Collections Management and Film Distribution programs, which ensure ongoing access to vital educational resources for the humanities. Funding will allow DER to weather the delayed impact of Covid-19 on university budgets and of interruptions to our marketing activities, allowing us to continue work on the cataloging, preservation, and outreach of DER’s historic and growing catalog of ethnographic films and indigenous media over the next year. SHIP funding will enable DER to maintain existing staffing levels so that we can continue our essential collections management and outreach work, particularly rebuilding marketing and relationships with our primary audiences, and provide the resources to tap into needed expertise in how to maximize our outreach online.
