The SSRC is proud to welcome Case Western Reserve University to the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences (CUF). Case Western Reserve joins a network of forty CUF higher education partners that are dedicated to connecting across disciplines and institutions to produce high-impact scholarship, and to expanding the funding infrastructure for social and behavioral science worldwide.

“Societies around the globe face pressing challenges at scale: pandemics, hunger, climate change, growing economic inequality, threats to democratic institutions,” said SSRC president Anna Harvey. “The College and University Fund network is a key mechanism for leveraging the capacity of the international research community and also for generating the funding necessary to do research at scale–the scale that is needed to address these challenges. We are thrilled to welcome Case Western Reserve to this growing group.”

Case Western Reserve provost and executive vice president Ben Vinson III noted that CUF membership will allow the university to support and advance interdisciplinary, impact-driven social science research. “At Case Western Reserve University we are committed to high-impact research that crosses disciplines and achieves deep social impact. But importantly, we know that to have real meaning, we must always keep the human at the center of all we do. Our partnership with the Social Science Research Council will further cement these values and help us to enhance the social sciences for years to come.”
