Overview
The rapid expansion of new media in the early 21st century has had significant and widespread effects on the ways in which knowledge is produced, consumed, and disseminated. Through a variety of activities, including a series of essays on religion and digital culture at The Immanent Frame, and a collaboration with Religion Dispatches, and a report on the impact that digital modes of research and publication have had on the study of religion, the Religion, Media, and Digitization project aims to better understand transformations in scholarly communication and journalism about religion and to facilitate critical discussion of these shifts.
This project is supported by funding from the Henry Luce Foundation.
