The Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum is pleased to announce the release of the CPPF Working Papers on Women in Politics series edited by our Associate Director Renata Segura. The second in the series titled Women’s Political Participation in Sub-Saharan Africa was written by Aili Tripp (University of Wisconsin – Madison).The paper looks at explanations for the changing patterns in women’s political engagement in Sub-Saharan Africa. It examines both the factors that have facilitated these changes, as well as the obstacles to women’s further participation, while also analyzing the consequences of these developments.
