Program Assistant


Malu Napuelua is the program assistant for the Sloan Scholars Mentoring Network, an initiative of the Social Science Research Council and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Malu attended the University of Hawaiʻi at West Oʻahu where she earned her bachelor of arts in social science with a concentration in sociology. During her undergraduate program, she engaged in culture-based research focused on Native diasporas and the value of diverse cultures for positive social impact. She also collaborated on the Student-Parent Pantry and Mālama Kits & Meals projects to support diverse underrepresented populations in higher education and in communities across Hawaiʻi. Prior to the SSRC, Malu worked as a student aide with Kamehameha Schools and as an office assistant in the for profit and nonprofit volunteer sector to support community, culture and sustainable initiatives.
