Wayne Cornelius
Wayne A. Cornelius is the Theodore Gildred Distinguished Professor of Political Science and US-Mexican Relations, emeritus, at the University of California, San Diego, as well as an emeritus professor in the UCSD School of Medicine’s Division of Global Public Health. He is currently a faculty fellow in politics at Reed College. He is an expert on immigration policy in the US, Spain, and Japan, as well as Mexican politics and development. He is the author, co-author, or editor of nearly 300 publications dealing with these subjects, including 15 books on Mexican migration. His most recent book is The New Face
Hiro Lee
Hiro Lee is currently Professor of Economics at the Osaka School of International Public Policy, Osaka University. He has worked extensively in quantitative analysis of international trade and development, and is currently working on “Quantitative Assessments of Japan’s agricultural policy reforms and its participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership” using a dynamic applied general equilibrium model. His studies have been published in a variety of books and journals, including Cambridge University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, World Scientific, the Journal of Development Economics, and The World Economy.
Catherine Lewis
Catherine Lewis has pioneered use of Lesson Study (jugyou kenkyuu) in US schools. Lesson Study is a collaborative, practice-based form of professional learning that allows Japanese educators to continuously improve their instruction. With funding from the US Department of Education and NSF, she has developed and tested a series of resource kits to support lesson study in the US, including key resources translated from the Japanese elementary mathematics curriculum. Her randomized controlled trial of lesson study with mathematical content resources was identified by a What Works Clearinghouse-criteria review as one of only two professional learning programs (of 643 reviewed) to meet
