CPPF Workshop on Political Economy Analysis in Central Africa

On 9,12, and 13 June 2023 CPPF hosted a series of three half-day virtual workshops on PEA in Central Africa. The sessions took stock of political analysis-related work within both the United Nations and World Bank and discussed methodologies. The meeting aimed to enrich both organizations’ understanding of the political economy trends related to oil exporting states and the Congo Basin rainforest in Central Africa.

9th Annual CPPF-DPPA RC MENA Forum

CPPF hosted its 9th annual Forum for UN Resident Coordinators in the Middle East and North Africa Region in Geneva, Switzerland on 19-21 June 2023. The Forum covered regional political trends and cross-cutting topics such as human rights; drugs, crime and corruption; climate change and water politics; media and new technologies; migration; and risks and opportunities for the UN in the MENA region.

Yanqiu Zheng chaired a roundtable at the Association of Asian Studies annual conference in Boston

On 17 March 2023, Yanqiu Zheng chaired a roundtable titled “Producing Knowledge on China and the Global South: A Multi-Stakeholder Reflection,” at the annual conference of the Association for Asian Studies in Boston. It brought together Juliana González Jáuregui of FLACSO Argentina, Maria Repnikova of Georgia State University, Nicholas Loubere of Lund University (Sweden), Matthew Galway of Australian National University, and Kenneth Wissoker of Duke University Press, and discussed the promises and challenges of studying China’s global footprint, particularly in the Global South.
